Everyone should do it. 

I also did it, and I am a nobody, so why wouldn’t you do it too?
(A little fact, this is my first blog post.)

1# Blogging is cheap and can make you lot of money

First, starting a blog is very easy and dirt cheap. 

You can have a blog for as little as $2 a month, and the ROI (return on investment) can be astronomical. 

You can earn pretty easily an extra $500 – $2,000 per month blogging in your first year.
And there is no upper limit, some top bloggers are making 100 of thousands and even millions every year. 

Imagine, doing a little work, spending a few hours, maybe a day or two writing a blog post, and that post will generate passively income for you for months, years, or even a decade. 

Quitting your boring job and pursuing your passion and writing about the topic you love full time, sounds like a dream? Well, dreams can come true if you have the perseverance.

 

2# You will learn new skills by writing a blog

There are many skills you will need and want to start learning and through your journey you will master them, and become a skilled entrepreneur.
You will learn so many skills that are not only needed for blogging, but so many things you will need for overall content creating.

Some of them are writing and storytelling, web design, SEO, copywriting, branding, digital marketing, social media management, networking, setting goals and tracking them, time management,  photography, photo editing,  and so much more.

And I really advise you, NOT to spend time learning any of those skills before starting a blog.
You will spend your time just analyzing and learning and worrying, and at the end doing nothing. 

That is what so many do wrong. And the ironic thing is, by doing, you’re learning best.

 

I recommend you to make a blog right now, and just open Google Docs or whatever writing program you like using, and start typing.

Post your first blog online.

And then start gradually from blog post to blog post, read about the skills I just mentioned, and improve over time. 

 

3# Starting a blog is easy

It is easy to write a blog, you can start writing about whatever you like doing in your life right now. 

Maybe you are learning programming, or photography, fishing, or you are into cycling, consulting, fitness, barbecue, I don’t know, whatever the hack you’re into. 

Perhaps you are thinking to yourself, but Ante, “I don’t know how to write, I was a terrible writer at school”.

Just write as you would speak to your best friend about the topic you are enthusiastic, and the readers will feel your passion too. And if your fist blog post isn’t the best in the world, it doesn’t matter.
The first blogs you write, nobody will probably read them anyway, It will take some time, and you will become a better thinker and writer and even smarter in the topic you already like.

When you’re blogging, you’re standing out. 

You’re building your personal brand!

Someone out there will read your blog, and you will appear as a thought leader in that space, you are becoming an influencer to other people on whatever your topic is.
And that will lead to more connections with different people, even big businesses, and many other opportunities in your life.

 

Maybe you already have a business, or you would like to create a business of your hobby, for example photography. 

Well, you can promote your business on your website, and people will call. You will have so much more opportunities for work.

By having fun and writing a blog you are having something you can really be proud of, and the best thing is, whatever you’re writing about, it can really help someone. Or a lot of people.

You’re suddenly not only limited to the person sitting next to you.

With your own website, your blog, you can reach so many people, and your impact can be enormous.

But how do you make a Blog?

You only need 3 things.
You require a domain, hosting provider and a platform for your blog.

Likewise, you can imagine a domain as just an address, people type in the search bar to find you,

like www.google.com or www.yourname.com, and it costs around $10 for a whole year.
And that domain name will help you create your own email address like name@yourname.com. 

A hosting provider has servers to keep your site online and accessible at all times. 

And a platform is where you can use templates, drag and drop every element of your website around, and don’t have to code anything yourself. 

Nowadays, you can register to one site and get all three things from one provider. Which is great, it makes things simple.
There are sites like Squarespace, Ghost, and Wix, and they make it really easy to set up everything. 

 

But my recommendation, if you’re a little more tech-savvy and what I personally use, would be WordPress and a plugin called Elementor. You can use bot for free. 

I would buy a domain name and hosting from Namecheap.com, and create a WordPress website. There are numerous tutorials on how to create a WordPress website with Elementor on a Namecheap hosting account.

 

 

But if you don’t wanna the hassle at the beginning setting everything up, and just want to start very fast, just use something like Squarespace, Ghost or Wix.

It really doesn’t matter what you use in the beginning, and with time you will find out what your needs are, and you can always migrate your content later on.
Now all you have to do is to quickly make 3 Pages, a Blog page, an  About page and Contact Page.

You can literally have your blog in under one or two hours.

And once you set it all up, it is there, and you have to just start blogging.
For a start, make a 1-hour block weekly in your calendar for writing, and just post it online.
